Dr. Rosa Lee

Ms. Shanice Aaron

Ms. Shanice Aaron

Juilliard-trained pianist and educator Dr. Rosa Lee is the Director of Rosa Lee Piano Studio. 


She is the recipient of the Juilliard School’s John Erskine Prize, and has made numerous appearances in recitals, playing solo piano and chamber works, and with major orchestras in the U.S. She has won top prizes in competitions and performed in 

Juilliard-trained pianist and educator Dr. Rosa Lee is the Director of Rosa Lee Piano Studio. 


She is the recipient of the Juilliard School’s John Erskine Prize, and has made numerous appearances in recitals, playing solo piano and chamber works, and with major orchestras in the U.S. She has won top prizes in competitions and performed in numerous tours through major cities of Italy, Switzerland, Korea, and Canada.

Korea Times for her “clear tone and beautiful expression,” she has been broadcasted on PBS television and Seattle King FM numerous times.


Dr. Rosa Lee has taught as an instructor of piano at Columbia’s Teachers College and Eastman School of Music. Most recently, she served as full-time Assistant Professor of Music at Bethel College, Kansas. 


She has served as a jury member in Syracuse, New York, and was the former assistant director of Hesston-Bethel Performing Arts series, an annual

collaborative effort of Hesston and Bethel College for sponsorship of concerts and K-12 outreach programs by world-class artists.


Dr. Rosa Lee holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance at the Juilliard School of Music, a second master’s degree in music education from Columbia University, Teacher’s College, and a doctorate degree from the Eastman School of Music. 


Dr. Rosa Lee's principle piano studies were with Julian Martin at Juilliard and at Eastman with Nelita True. She has joined Bunker Hill Community College as faculty member since 2019 and is Founder of Rosa Lee Piano Studio in Beverly Hills, California.

Ms. Shanice Aaron is a classical pianist and educator known for her expressive artistry, dedication to musical excellence, and passion for inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Ms. Shanice Aaron is a classical pianist and educator known for her expressive artistry, dedication to musical excellence, and passion for inspiring the next generation of musicians. 


Ms. Aaron holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she developed a strong foundation in classical performance and musicianship. She continued her advanced studies in piano performance, beginning her Master’s studies at the University of Southern California (USC) and graduating from Columbia University, studying under John Gavalchin. earned her Master’s degree in Piano Performance.


As a performer, Ms. Aaron has received recognition through numerous competitions and performance opportunities. Her achievements include winning the CAPMT Concerto Competition California State Competition, the Bellflower Symphony Concerto Competition, and earning honors through the American Protégé International Competitions, which led to performances at Carnegie Hall. 


She has performed as a concerto soloist with the City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles under conductor Charles Dickerson, including a performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall featuring Lukas Richman’s concerto In Truth. Her musical experiences have also included participation in acclaimed festivals, including the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Pianofest in the Hamptons, Bowdoin Music Festival, and Hawaii Chamber Music Festival.


In addition to her performing career, she is dedicated to music education. She has served as an applied piano instructor at Columbia University, teaching private piano lessons and mentoring students in technique, musical interpretation, and performance preparation. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes developing each student’s individuality while building a strong foundation in musicianship and artistry. Shanice has been teaching for more than 10 years.

Ms. Michal Kanter is a Los Angeles-based pianist, composer, arranger, vocalist, and educator passionate about blending diverse musical traditions, improvisation, and innovative arrangements.


Currently completing her Master of Music in Piano Performance at the California Institute of the Arts, Michal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Piano 

Ms. Michal Kanter is a Los Angeles-based pianist, composer, arranger, vocalist, and educator passionate about blending diverse musical traditions, improvisation, and innovative arrangements.


Currently completing her Master of Music in Piano Performance at the California Institute of the Arts, Michal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Piano from the Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA, where she graduated with top honors, and an Associate Degree in Piano Performance from Los Angeles City College.


Her contributions to the field have been recognized with the prestigious Herb Alpert Outstanding Performer-Composer Award (2023) and a nomination from the UCLA Council of the Arts for her original compositions.


Beyond the stage, Ms. Kanter is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of musicians. As a dedicated educator, Michal runs a thriving piano studio and serves as a harmony and musicianship tutor. Her educational approach is rooted in a deeply global, cross-cultural perspective on performance, arranging, and instruction.


Michal’s musical trajectory was shaped by her cross-cultural background. She worked as a touring lead vocalist and pianist in Buenos Aires, Argentina, performing at major ceremonies and venues across South America. Michal continued to expand her performance footprint across multiple genres, including jazz, salsa, flamenco, and North African styles.


Michal is a collaborative pianist and accompanist who has recorded for international projects and provides accompaniment for choirs, as well as ballet and dance classes. She also commands the stage as the bandleader and pianist for her own ensemble, La Tina Sonora. Whether she is composing, playing, or arranging, she continuously seeks inventive, soulful ways to connect communities through music.

Mr. Ty Xiong is a classically trained pianist who loves to teach, compose, and collaborate regardless of genre. He believes that classical music can help him cross into other worlds and create even more music. His earliest exposure to music was joining his Catholic Church’s children’s choir. He became interested in classical piano and film composition. Ty stubbornly persisted putting himself through lessons during his high school years. Mr. Ty then attended Central Piedmont Community College and obtained his Associates in Fine Arts in piano studies. He then moved onto study at University of North Carolina in Greensboro School of Music where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Music.

While studying at UNCG, Mr. Xiong started learning more about experimental “New Music.” He loves learning about new musical theories and experimental performance. He sees it as a way of having an arsenal of tools when composing music for concert music and film score projects. He was fortunate to be showcased as a composer collaborating and performing alongside with UNCG Sinfonia String ensemble performing his piece “Lost Child,” (2020) for Strings and Piano that aesthetically resembles film music.

While continuing his academic studies, Mr. Ty Xiong has found a new passion of the sounds of non-western sounds and looks forward into expanding his compositional research in ethnomusicolgy. This came from wanting to combine traditional western sounds and sounds from his Hmong heritage.

He is currently based in Los Angeles, where he continues to collaborate with filmmakers, composers, and fellow musicians. In his teaching, he values building genuine rapport with each students and creating a supportive, nurturing environment where students feel comfrotable taking risks, asking questions, and developing confidence at the piano.

Mr. Ignacio Herrera teaches pop and contemporary style piano, guitar, voice, and songwriting, with a special focus on making lessons fun, structured, and confidence-building for students of every age — from young children just starting out to teens preparing for auditions and adults pursuing music as a lifelong passion.

Mr. Ignacio Herrera teaches pop and contemporary style piano, guitar, voice, and songwriting, with a special focus on making lessons fun, structured, and confidence-building for students of every age — from young children just starting out to teens preparing for auditions and adults pursuing music as a lifelong passion.


With over 5 years of teaching experience across two countries, Ignacio’s teaching background includes institutions such as the Santa Monica Conservatory, Arabesque Conservatory of Music, The Beverly Hills Music School, He has been recognized as an outstanding songwriter by the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts and Communication.


Beyond technical skill-building — proper technique, music theory, sight-reading, and improvisation — Ignacio brings real stage and studio experience to every lesson, including music production, recording, and songwriting, so students don’t just learn an instrument, they learn how to create and perform music of their own. He has experience adapting his teaching approach for students with special educational needs, and prides himself on patient, encouraging instruction that keeps kids motivated and excited to practice.


Lessons are available in both English and Spanish, making Ignacio a great fit for bilingual families or students looking to learn in either language.


Mr. Herrera can travel to your location throughout West Hollywood, West LA, and surrounding areas — including Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Little Armenia, East Hollywood, Atwater Village, Elysian Heights, DTLA, Koreatown, Hancock Park, Central LA, Melrose, Beverly Hills, Trousdale Estates, Beverlywood, Baldwin Hills, Culver City, Rancho Park, Century City, Westwood, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, Venice, Mar Vista, and Palms. Ms. Raea Jennerich

Mr. Ignacio Herrara

Ms. Raea Jennerich is an emerging composer and pianist, born and raised in Los Angeles, California. 


Ms. Jennerich is a graduate of LACC’s Herb Alpert Music Center with an Associates Degree and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Composition and Experimental Sound Practices at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).

Ms. Raea Jennerich is an emerging composer and pianist, born and raised in Los Angeles, California. 


Ms. Jennerich is a graduate of LACC’s Herb Alpert Music Center with an Associates Degree and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Composition and Experimental Sound Practices at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).  


Ms. Jennerich is an active member at the Atlantic Music Festival, held at Colby College, where her compositions are often performed. During her six-week residency, she studied concert composition, music technology, and screen scoring with world-renowned faculty from conservatories all over the country including Juilliard School of Music.


In 2022, she was the recipient of the Herb Alpert Music Program Scholarship in Malaga, Spain. She premiered and performed piano, composing her original chamber compositions. Raea’s work includes classical music for solo instruments, chamber groups, and composition for media. A few topics that she likes to explore in her work are dissonance, space, and atmosphere. 


Ms. Raea Jennerich began studying piano at six years old and is known for her rich sound on the instrument. As a teacher, Raea’s goal is to inspire confidence, creativity, and a love of music for all of her students. 


Ms. Raea Jennerich teaches students in elementary, middle, and high school from beginner to intermediate levels. Skills learned in lessons will consist of technique, music theory, musicianship skills, and piano repertoire both assigned by the teacher and chosen by the student. She believes in promoting a well-rounded approach to teaching. 


Her goal is to foster the student's individuality and creativity to enhance their artistry and prioritize the growth of their technique and skill levels.
